Safari Itinerary
Day 1
Day 1: Mombasa/Nairobi to Tsavo East National Park
Pick-up & Drive to Tsavo East:
Early morning pick-up from your Mombasa hotel (or Nairobi) and begin the journey to Tsavo East, famous for its vast landscapes and red-soil elephants.
Enjoy views of the savannah as you approach one of Kenya’s oldest and largest parks.
Arrival & Game Drive:
Arrive at your lodge/camp in time for lunch. After a short rest, head out for an afternoon game drive in Tsavo East.
Tsavo East Highlights: Look for the famous “red elephants” of Tsavo, dusted in the red soil, and other wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, and zebras. Keep an eye out for the Maneaters of Tsavo, a pair of notorious lions with a fascinating history.
Dinner & Overnight:
Return to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Day 2: Tsavo East to Tsavo West National Park
Morning Game Drive in Tsavo East:
Start your day with an early morning game drive in Tsavo East. The early hours offer the best chance to spot predators such as lions and leopards.
Breakfast & Transfer to Tsavo West:
After breakfast, check out and begin your drive to Tsavo West National Park, known for its dramatic landscapes and volcanic formations.
Mzima Springs Visit: En route, stop at Mzima Springs, a series of clear water springs where you can watch hippos and crocodiles through an underwater viewing chamber.
Afternoon Game Drive in Tsavo West:
After lunch at your lodge, enjoy an afternoon game drive in Tsavo West. The park’s rugged terrain offers stunning views of the rolling hills and lava flows.
Tsavo West Highlights: Spot elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, and other wildlife. Tsavo West is also home to the endangered black rhino, which you may see at the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary.
Dinner & Overnight:
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay in Tsavo West.
Day 3
Day 3: Tsavo West to Amboseli National Park
Morning Game Drive & Transfer to Amboseli:
After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Tsavo West before departing for Amboseli National Park, with its breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Arrive at Amboseli in time for lunch and a short rest at your lodge/camp.
Afternoon Game Drive in Amboseli:
Head out for an afternoon game drive in Amboseli, famous for its large elephant herds and spectacular views of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Amboseli Highlights: Spot elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and hippos, with the stunning backdrop of the mountain providing excellent photographic opportunities.
Dinner & Overnight:
Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay in Amboseli.
Day 4
Day 4: Amboseli to Nairobi/Mombasa
Morning Game Drive in Amboseli:
Set out for an early morning game drive to catch the sunrise over Mt. Kilimanjaro and spot wildlife at their most active.
Breakfast & Departure:
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and begin your journey back to Nairobi or Mombasa, with an optional stop for a final lunch en route.
Drop-off:
Arrive in Nairobi or Mombasa in the late afternoon, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, concluding your safari adventure.
